Comic Life for Educators
I kind of missed the boat over the past few years on the software, "Comic Life." Here at my new school we have a site license for this program and I hope to begin experimenting with it and using it more in the next few weeks. Today I found out about an interesting resource co-written by Judi Epcke that I'm going to try to pick up pretty soon. For more info on this resource, visit the publisher's website.

ComicLife is a blast. Kids love it and its use can be worked into any content area and grade level.
ReplyDeleteBernajean Porter's session on comics and storytelling at NECC was excellent.

The technology use can be simple or complex. And the thinking skills used by students can definitely be HOT.
We've been using Comic Life for awhile with our kids and it's great, we use it for our students to make manuals for our teachers, like this one: http://tinyurl.com/57kxtp
ReplyDeleteI second both Jeff and Kern on ComicLife. It's a pretty slick app and there are endless possibilities.
ReplyDeleteI used it to create quick start guides for a series of professional development workshops.
I think you'll enjoy using it. After you give it a whirl, be sure to let us know what you think. ;=D
