Mr. Markwald-Digital Harassment Reflection

Dear 7th Grade Students:

Please write a paragraph in response to the following post regarding our conversation in advising this week on digital harassment (aka-"Cyber Bullying"). Please include a topic sentence in your paragraph and a summary/conclusion sentence at the end. Your reflection paragraph should contain a minimum of six sentences.

Over our last three meetings I hope you had the time to reflect upon on what it means to be a good digital citizen. Remember to never post private information about you, your friends or your family online. Also, be sure to tell your mom or dad if you are ever in a situation online that doesn't feel right. I enjoyed working with you all and I thank you for your participation in this blog reflection project.

Please reflect on the following post:
What can teachers, students and parents do to help put an end to digital harassment/cyber bullying? Think about your experience in adivising today and the DVD that we watched. For more information on Ryan Halligan and his story, visit the following link: http://www.ryanpatrickhalligan.org/

  1. I think parents and students need to end digital harassment to 1. inform people about it. For students 2. talk to some one about it. Talk to parents and brothers and sisters about it. Tell friends to stop doing if they are.

  2. Teachers, parents and students can all help to prevent cyber bullying by monitoring what there kids or students to on the internet. They can do this by making sure that they are not on inappropriate web site, on bad chat rooms, doing wrong things and just plain doing unnecessary things. These are many way people can help stop this madness.

  3. Teachers, students, and parents can help prevent cyber bullying in many ways. One way to help this is to create a web site which tells other people about the dangers of cyber bullying and to tell people who do it to stop. Another thing you can do is get involved with a comunity program which gets involved in telling others about cyber bullying and how to avoid it. The school could also create a program which gets together to tell others in the town how to prevent cyber bullying. These are all ways on how to stop cyber bullying.
